PBS News: Obama and FCC Betting on Broadband as Stimulus

Primarily low-income homes and the elderly do not have access to broadband information at home, which puts these groups at a an economic and social disadvantage. View One-Economy.com for more information.

One initiative looks to subsidize broadband access for those who cannot afford it or who lack the hardware to do so. The funds will come from the Universal Service Fund, which has to now funded telephone access.
